Screw Pump

The screw pump device includes three parts: prime mover, variable speed transmission device and screw pump, specifically composed of screw blades, pump shaft, bearing seat, and shell. Screw pumps can be divided according to the number of screws,

* Single screw pumps-a pump with a single screw engaging and rotating in the internal thread groove of the pump body.
* Multi screw pumps-a pump in which multiple screws are engaged with each other to transport liquid.

The screw pump is installed obliquely between the upper and lower pools. The lower blades of the screw pump are immersed below the water surface.
When the pump shaft rotates, the spiral blade pushes the water in the pool into the blade groove. Under the action of the spiral rotating blade, the water rises upwards along the spiral shaft level by level until it reaches the water outlet of the screw pump.
The screw pump only changes the potential energy of the fluid, which is different from the vane-type water pump which converts the mechanical energy into the potential energy and kinetic energy of the liquid.

Because of its variable transportation, strong self-priming ability, reversibility, and ability to transport liquids containing solid particles, screw pumps are widely used in sewage treatment plants to transport water, wet sludge and flocculant liquids.
