PRIESTMAN Excavator Hydraulic Parts
Priestman was an engineering company based in Kingston upon Hull, England, that manufactured excavators, dredgers, cranes and other industrial machinery. In the late 1900s, the company also produced the Priestman Oil Engine, an early design of the combustion engine.
Priestman began producing excavators named after animals in 1928, such as models named "Lion", "Tiger" and "Panther". The company merged with Coles Cranes of Sunderland in 1970. In 1972, Priestman's parent company, the Steels Group, was acquired by the Acrow Group.
The Priestman division was sold in 1984 and eventually merged with Coles Cranes. The remainder of the company is owned by Gardner Denver and it no longer supports the Priestman line of products such as Priestman cranes or excavators.
