On July 3, 2001 Ingersoll Rand in Woodcliff Lake, NJ purchased Czech compact loader-backhoe manufacturer Superstav. The acquisition included stock of Earth Force America, Inc., based in Charleston, South Carolina. It was a U.S. distributor of Superstav, which sold products under the Earth Force brand.

These businesses become part of IR's Bobcat division. Bobcat was a subsidiary of Ingersoll Rand from 1995 until July 2007, and was later sold to Doosan Infracore for $4.9 billion.
