LULL had been in production since 1959, and the LULL machine was a precursor to the early telehandlers. In 2003 Textron announced that it had agreed to sell its OmniQuip business unit to JLG Industries. OmniQuip products sold to JLG are marketed under the SkyTrak and LULL brands.

As the brand lineup continued to rationalize, JLG Industries had planned that it would no longer produce LULL telehandlers in 2015.
