Allmand was founded in 1938 by brothers Leslie and Walter Allmand in a small garage in the small town of Huntley, Nebraska. Allmand uses job site application expertise to build high-quality, and high-performance equipment.

In 1995 Allmand introduced the Contractor TLB® Compact Loader Backhoe, and in 2005 introduced the TLB 6235 all-wheel drive tractor loader backhoe. Briggs & Stratton Corporation acquired Allmand in 2014.
